TRAVEL UPDATE: Olympos, Turkey - Day 1
It’s been about an hour-and-a-half since Katie and I arrived in Olympos after about 17 hours of travel from Istanbul (updates on the dramatics of why we left so suddenly mas layter. Or maybe not. Who cares, really?). The point is: OLYMPOS IS PHENOMENAL!
Mama Natura: I am home.
I have been yearning - no! Salivating! - for nature. After my week-long trip to Rishikesh in India a few weeks ago, my return to Delhi signaled a clear alarm: I need to get the fuck out of cities.
So here I am. One week in Turkey and within an hour of arriving in Olympos, I have bathed in the Mediterranean almost naked, kissed a tortoise, and walked through the ruins of an ancient temple.
This Long Way Home may be based on my need to get home, but goddamn if I haven’t been able to fit in a whole hell of a lot of adventure! If I can do this completely unplanned, unguided, and unstructured, than anyone can.
